The 470km-long Plain Railway, from Tinaco to Anaco, in North Venezuela, is a double-track railway with a maximum designed speed of 220km per hour. The project is undertaken by China Railway Engineering Corporation through EPC (engineer, procure and construction) contract model. The contract was the highest-value one that China had signed in non-oil field with Venezuela, totaling $ 7.5 billion. CTCE undertakes 40% of the project quantity.
