Han Yonggang, general manager and deputy Party secretary of China Railway No.4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd (CREC4), has conducted field research at a construction site of Ningbo-Zhoushan Railway, a 76.396-kilometer high-speed railway in East China’s Zhejiang Province.
While touring the YZSG—4 Work Area of CREC4 Second Engineering on June 2, Han also gave a lecture to CREC4 staffers concerning the theoretical study program on the study and implementation of the Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
The Ningbo-Zhoushan Railway, with an investment of 27 billion yuan ($3.9 billion) and starting its official construction on November 2, 2022, will have seven stations, allowing trains to run at a designed speech of 250 kilometers an hour. It is one of the 10 landmark projects in the construction of Zhejiang’s major thoroughfare. Upon operation, it will help the building of the Belt and Road Initiative and the integration of the Yangtze River Delta region.
The Xihoumen Highway and Railway Bridge is a super sea-crossing bridge across Xihoumen Waterway on the double-track of Ningbo-Zhoushan Railway and Ningbo-Zhoushan Expressway, connecting Zhoushan’s Jintang Island and Zezi Island. With a total length of 3,118 meters, the bridge’s main span will be 1,488 meters with cable-stayed suspension cooperation system, while the bridge deck will be 68 meters wide. It is the world’s largest span highway and railway bridge under construction and also the world’s widest sea-crossing bridge.
During his field research, Han examined the construction process in constructing deep-water trestles, conducting underwater drilling and blasting and rock hole anchoring.
Later, he went to deliver a speech concerning the theoretical study program on the study and implementation of the Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, to CREC4 staffers participating in the Xihoumen Highway and Railway Bridge project. He urged the participants to master well the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, learning to use its stands, viewpoints and methods effectively, and transforming them into a powerful force for advancing forward.
Han also called on them to complete this glorious mission in building this historic project with full determination and strong will.
Liang Chao, deputy general manager of CREC4 and CREC4 chief engineer, Geng Jin, CREC4 Business Manager and chief of CREC4 East China Regional Operations Command, and relevant other officials from CREC4 headquarters and subsidiaries also listened to Han’s lecture.
